Strategic partnership between MACROKIOSK and Apigate bridges mobile billing connections across ASEAN
MALAYSIA, 28 January 2019 – MACROKIOSK, a leading digital technology enabler in Asia, has established a strong Direct Carrier Billing (DCB) connections roadmap across Asia through both direct connections with telecommunication operators and via strategic partners in identified markets. MACROKIOSK established a strategic partnership with Apigate, to extend its DCB connections across ASEAN.
Through this strategic partnership, MACROKIOSK will immediately enable its DCB connections into four telecommunications operators in ASEAN, namely Celcom (Malaysia), Dialog (Sri Lanka), Smart (Cambodia) and XL (Indonesia), to deliver an additional total accumulated market size of close to 80 million mobile subscribers to its clienteles across 37 countries.
The majority of ASEAN population consists of communities that are unbanked and do not own credit cards, which results in a large prepaid mobile user segment. DCB allows mobile users to make purchases by deducting from their prepaid balance or charging it to their postpaid bills. This provides an ideal billing solution for digital service providers to bill and for users to enjoy digital contents and services.
